Shanghai Express

Goal

Ride the line from Beijing to Hong Kong. Complete each station's contract, then go out. Lowest total penalty after Station 7 wins.

2–6 players. Each station deals 11 cards. Wilds are Twos and Jokers.

The seven stations

1. Beijing Departure — two sets of 3
2. Xi'an Junction — one set of 3 and one run of 4 (same suit)
3. Chengdu Pass — two runs of 4
4. Wuhan Terminal — three sets of 3
5. Guilin Express — two sets of 3 and one run of 4
6. Guangzhou Express — two runs of 3 and one set of 3
7. Hong Kong Horizon — three runs of 4

Your turn

1. Draw from the stock, or take the top discard.
2. Meld — when you can satisfy the whole station contract, lay it down. After that you may add cards to any laid melds.
3. Discard one card to end your turn.

Scoring

Unmelded cards at station end: Joker 25, Ace 15, face cards 10, number cards = face value.
